Some of Our Projects
Unless vision problems are detected early and corrected, they may become permanent. Last year Red Bank Lions screened children at 24 Hamilton County Schools and plan to continue to grow this program.
Many people in our community do not have access to affordable and nutritious food. Red Bank Lions volunteer their time to pack food for the Red Bank Community Food Pantry.
Remote Area Medical (RAM) clinics deliver free dental and medical services to underserved and uninsured individuals. Red Bank Lions teamed with other Lions in our district and local businesses to provide food when the RAM clinic came to Chattanooga.
Children don’t deserve to fail in school because they can’t see. Red Bank Lions partner with other Lions Clubs in the area to form the Hamilton County Lions Sight Services group. This group provides eyeglasses to people in need. The sources of income come from donations from individual Lions Clubs, and from the collection of used eyeglasses.
Over 4,000 individuals experience homelessness each year in Chattanooga. Red Bank Lions offered facilities and manpower to assist Chattanooga Cares package bags of hygiene items. These were later given to homeless individuals at the Chattanooga Community Kitchen.
People struggle each day to provide basic necessities for themselves and their families. These families may feel the need to give up their family pet. Red Bank Lions donated some items and a check for $250 to the non-profit 4 Paws Pantry to assist families dealing with these issues.
